At the UNIVERSITY VISION CENTRE, we offer the total package of eyecare services. From the tiniest of infants to our most senior members, we can take care of your eyehealth and vision needs. These are just some of the services we offer:
EXAMINATIONS
Comprehensive eye examinations to check for cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other diseases and conditions of the eye. We will use all of our experience and resources to ensure that you have the clearest and most comfortable vision possible. Whether you prefer glasses, contact lenses, or laser vision correction, we can help you here at the UNIVERSITY VISION CENTRE.

DIABETIC EYECARE
Drs. Blair and Ellis provide eye examinations for patients with diabetes. It is important for people who have been diagnosed with diabetes to have their eyes examined annually, because diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. During the examination, the doctors will document the health of your retinas with digital retinal photographs, and a report will be sent to the primary care physician managing the diabetes. If necessary, a referral will be made to a retinal specialist if severe enough diabetic changes are found.
CONTACT LENSES
Contact lens fittings of all types - clear, colored, soft, gas permeable, disposable, extended wear, conventional, bifocal and toric. Many types can be dispensed on the day of your visit. We now offer the convenience of reordering your contact lenses online. Just click on the "order contact lenses" button on our home page, and your contact lenses will be delivered right to your door.
SURGICAL CARE
Complete co-management services for laser and cataract surgeries, including pre-and-post operative care.
FASHION EYEWEAR
Full service optical with over 1000 frames to choose from and all of the latest lens technologies and treatments available. We can make an attractive pair of glasses for almost any prescription. Outside prescriptions are always welcome.
LASIK/EPI-LASIK/PRK/CK
LASIK consultations/co-management. Working closely with Paul Gulbas, MD and the New Vision Laser Center of El Paso, we provide extensive pre-and-post operative care for Laser Vision Correction and Near Vision CK. We can even help arrange financing in many cases. We offer the latest in Laser technology, including the new WAVEFRONT technology, EPI-LASIK, iL
ASIK (bladeless all laser LASIK), and the new conductive keratoplasty technique which uses radiofrequency energy (instead of a laser) to improve near vision.
EYE DISEASE/RED EYE TREATMENT
Medical eye care including the treatment and management of ocular diseases, infections, dryness, ocular allergy, and the removal of foreign bodies.
RECYCLE YOUR OLD GLASSES
We are a collection site for the Lions Club Recycle for Sight Program. Drop off your old, unused glasses here, and we will get them to the Lions Club, where they will be distributed to deserving people in need.
