Here at University Vision Centre, we do our best to stay current with the latest technology in our field. Here are some of the latest instruments we use to give our patients the best eyecare in El Paso.
This cutting edge technology uses the latest laser imaging to obtain a 200 degree view of your retina and allows us to easily and painlessly evaluate your internal eye health without dilation. Our doctors believe this is the best possible system to monitor and compare your internal eye health from year to year and to aid in the early detection of disease or damage that may threaten good sight.
Advanced Digital Refraction System
The Auto Refractor is a computer that measures the amount of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism that you may have without any response from you. This information feeds directly into our new advanced digital refraction system and is used as a starting point in the determination of your prescription. Together with the advanced digital refraction system, this cutting edge technology allows us to easily and accurately obtain the best possible prescription for your visual needs.
At University Vision Centre, we offer complete comprehensive exams, including thorough preliminary testing. We use cutting edge technology and instruments designed to obtain information that will give our doctors the full picture of your internal and external eye health, as well as precise measurements to use as a basis for your eyeglass or contact lens prescription.
This instrument provides sophisticated digital mapping of the front of the eye which ensures precision contact lens fitting and gives the doctors the necessary information for refractive surgery and corneal refractive therapy (orthokeratology). This instrument is also critical in the diagnosis and rehabilitation process of corneal damage due to injury, disease, or degeneration. The Kerotograph can also be used to perform a series of dry eye tests which aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of dry eye disease.
